ICF Mentor Coaching

About Mentor Coaching

The International Coach Federation (ICF) requires that all prospective ICF-certified coaches and Associate Certified Coaches (ACC) renewing their ACC credential receive 10 hours of Mentor Coaching with an ICF-qualified Mentor Coach.  Seven of those hours can be in a Mentor Coaching group.  It's required that three hours be one-on-one with a Mentor Coach.

According to the ICF:

"Mentor Coaching for an ICF Credential consists of coaching and feedback in a collaborative, appreciative and dialogued process based on an observed or recorded coaching session to increase the coach’s capability in coaching, in alignment with the ICF Core Competencies.

Mentoring provides professional assistance in achieving and demonstrating the levels of coaching competency and capability demanded by the desired credential level. Mentor Coaching should take place over an extended time (three-month minimum) in a cycle that allows for listening and feedback from the Mentor Coach while also allowing reflection and practice on the part of the individual being mentored."

I provide both group  and individual (one-on-one) Mentor Coaching.  In addition to being an ICF Mentor Coach, I am a Mentor Coach for the Master's Program in Health & Wellness Coaching at the Marylnd University of Integrative Health.  I'm also Founding and current President of an ICF Chapter, ICF Upstate New York.

The rate for individual (one-on-one) Mentor Coaching is $125 per one-hour session.

Payment must be made in advance for the number of agreed-upon sessions.

The rate for group coaching (maximum 10 coaches) is $1050 for 8 group Mentor Coaching sessions.  There are eight sessions because the first session is a general introduction to Mentor Coaching in which we discuss the process and you can ask questions; it's generally shorter than the regular Mentor Coaching sessions.  Group sessions are one and one-half hours long.  Payment must be made in advance for the number of agreed-upon sessions.  Minimum group size for a group to run is 3 coaches.

What you can expect:

Individual  (One-on-One) Mentor Coaching

We'll meet every two weeks either by phone or on my Zoom platform and listen to a recording you provide of you coaching a client. We'll critique the recording together.  You'll have the chance to ask questions and dialogue about the coaching process and ways to master the ICF Competencies to further your coaching.  Although we could meet weekly if that's your preference, a two-week timeframe is recommended to give yourself time to record sessions with your client or clients for our Mentor Coaching sessions. Please contact me using the contact form if you would like more information or to arrange for Mentor Coaching.

Group Mentor Coaching

The content of Group Mentor Coaching sessions varies.  It includes review of the ICF Competencies, one-on-one coaching by group members, and case studies,  I like to provide an engaging and lively environment in which you'll reinforce learning of the ICF Competencies, have an opportunity to practice, and have fun.  Mentor Coaching Groups meet weekly on my Zoom platform.  Ordinarily a credentially candidate would meet with a Mentor Coaching Group on weekly basis and then transition to working individually with a Mentor Coach on a biweekly basis.
